Weird food

1. Snake wine, South east Asia

Next time you're complaining about the tepid chardonnay you've been served in a pub, just be grateful that you haven't been served a nice glass of snake wine. This popular beverage is believed to have important restorative properties in countries including China and Vietnam. It can either be made by steeping a snake in rice wine, or by mixing snake bodily fluids, such as blood, with the alcohol.

2. Fried spiders, Cambodia
The Cambodian delicacy of fried spider is something of an acquired taste. These little chaps are tarantulas, served with a lime and black pepper dip in the Phnom Penh restaurant Romdeng. According to Clive Graham-Ranger's book with Luu Meng, Cambodia's Top Tables, the restaurant serves over 200 a week.

3. Baby mice wine, China/ Korea

Another drink supposed to have beneficial health properties is baby mice wine, wine filled with... well, you guessed it. Thankfully, we couldn't find a picture.

Social Dance

This year we are doing social dance. Social dance is my favourite event that happens out of all of the other events. I like social dance because I like communicating with other people even if they are girls. I also like dancing even if it is with girls, I do not mind dancing with any type of gender. I got prince last year so I am trying my best to get king this year. A couple of my favourite dances are well all of them I don't hate any dances, but my favourite dances has to be the Maxine and the Change of partner dance. I hope I can get king this year I don't mind if I don't, I am really exited for this years social dance.

The nightmare

A campfire, a scream, and a small lie that gets bigger and bigger.

On one cold and breezy night in a forest, a campfire was made with some friends. The friends names where John, Michael, Jackie and Sarah. John and Jackie where the ones that loved causing trouble with others, last year they poured a bucket of blue paint all over the teacher. Michael and Sarah where the weak and moaning type, they'd cry over almost anything. On that night Jackie thought of an idea she walked over to John and sat next to him, she whispered

"I've got a plan want to hear it?"
John replies rubbing his hands together and with an evil grin on his face
"Sure what is it" he giggled

Jackie told John her plan they both where giggling together. Michael and Sarah where sitting next to each other and wondering why the two where laughing.
Michael says to Sarah
"Psst Sarah I think Jackie and John like each other."
Sarah replies with a smile on her face "Yeah I think that too haha"

Michael and Sarah where going to go to bed because they felt very tired. Jackie and John said to each other "Time to strike." While Michael was asleep John and Jackie tip toe towards Michaels tent with a bottle of water, they entered his tent and poured water all inside of his bed they ran out as fast as they could. Michael waked up and screamed Sarah came into his tent and said
"What's wronnggg oh."
"Michael said "No it's not what it looks like"

After that day Michael despised Jackie and John they arrived back at school and Michael carried on getting laughed at he was wondering why. He walked past Johns class and heard him saying that I wet my bed.

End of term review

Did I enjoy this term?
I enjoyed this term a lot. I got to get involved in so much things. I learnt to many things in all of my subjects. I had so much opportunities this term, it felt so short probably because I had so much fun with my friends. There were some problems here and there but it was still fun, I think everybody felt the same just like I am right now.

Maths
This term I have improved maths by a lot, I am very proud of myself for getting better and better at this subject. I am starting to enjoy maths everyday, I am very happy with the class that I am in because Miss Campbell helps me a lot in this subjects. When I don't understand anything Miss Campbell comes along and helps me. I could have not got to where I am with out her. She is the best teacher I have ver had in year 8.

What problems that I over came this term?
I only have one problem that I overcame, it was science fair. There where some problems about science fair but I still got through them because me and my partner worked together to get though it. One of the problems were that we could test our game on the blind because that was really important in our project.

What was my favourite thing that happened this term?
My favourite thing this term has to be tech, I am really enjoying the tech that I am doing because I get really involved in music the teacher is also really nice. Music tech is my favourite tech out of all of them because I love music, music can inspire you and make you make your own type of it. We learn so much great songs e.g. Counting Stars, Come on home and many others.

Disco
This term disco what the best out of them all, almost all of my friends went. I also met some other people and hung out with them. When I wasn't with anyone I would just find someone that I knew and then started socialising with them. I hope that there will be another disco next term, I also hope that there are disco's at TBC next year because if not I am going to miss TIS a lot.

Case of long hair

A year 12 student Lucan Battison was suspended from the school St John's College. I think this a is a pathetic thing to happen, what is wrong with a student that has long hair to be in school? He has tied his hair up into a bun that has to be fine. In March Lucan received a bravery award for taking part in the January 2013 rescue of two people at Hawke's Bay beach. Lucan Battison won his case in the High Court in Wellington with a judge ruling the school's decision to suspend him was unlawful.
